Y&Y

This time I want to present you one of my favorite music bands!

Years&Years it is a quite young electronic British music band. They were founded in London in 2010. Orginally composed of five members: Mikey Goldsworthy, Emre Türkmen, Olly Alexander, Noel Leeman and Olivier Subria, but Leeman left the band in 2013. Their first single is called "I wish I knew" and was created in 2013 but it wasn't really famous. Later they made "Traps" and "Real", but they still weren't as popular as they wanted to be. The way to become popular opened to them their single called "Desire" which met a big interest from the audience. "Desire" achieved also 22nd position on the UK Singles Chart. And in this moment their career started. In 2015 they prepared their first album "Communion" with their the most famous single "King" (it was a number one on the UK Singles Chart). And now they are preparing a new album and for now we only know about first single from this CD named "Meteorite".
What I like in this music band is simply the ear-catching melody and interesting lyrics. They have some magic in their singles, sometimes I have some fun dancing to their music. I really appreciate when I have a moment to take a rest and I turn on my christmas lights or my candles and I listen to Years&Years - it gives me this special ambiance.

Here my favorite singles of Years&Years:

NEON

This time I want to share with you my little obsession about everything which is shining (and I don't mean that this post is going to be about glitter). This post is going to be about neon, and especialy about some artists who work with it. I have just found them and I thought that could be an interesting topic for my post.

1. Dan Flavin
He is an american artist mainly famous because of his installation commercially available fluorescent light fixtures, born in 1933 and died in 1996.  He is said to be like Marcel Duchamp nearly 50 years earlier, because he was the first to introduce a neon to the art world.

2. Keith Sonnier
He is also an american artist who work mainly with neon and fluorescent lights and he is also one of  the precursors in using this special colorful lights. But in contrast to Dan Flavin (who worked also with painting), he was focused on his minimalistic performance, videos and lights. Here you have more information: Keith Sonnier

3. Tracey Emin
And the last artist is also least of all connected with neon. Tracey Emin tries probably every type of art, which are drawing, painting, sculpture, film, photography and neon text. Her works with neon are mostly designed for advertisement, so it looks a little banal, but I really appreciate it.

Look at all of this wonderful neons! For me it looks like kind of magic - and it's the primarly reason why I really like it.

CRACOW

Recently I spend some time in Cracow visiting this outstanding city, so now I want to present you some monuments and districts which are the most impressive for me.

Firstly I want to say a few words about the district named "Nowa Huta", because even if it doesn't have this fancy look like old town, it's really interesing to visit this place and feel like everything is back in time to PRL.There is an opinion says that Nowa Huta is really dangerous. People wear tracksuits and they all have pitbulls and machetes. Maybe it's true, maybe not - I don't know. For me, important thing about Nowa Huta is the history standing behind this district.  Orginally it was created to be totally new city which would outshine Cracow. There were so many events just to show the others that "this place is alive and the best for living". There was also a big monument of Lenin and it was really hated by local society. It is a interesting experience to visit Nowa Huta.

The second district which I liked is Kazimierz. Historicaly speaking, Kazimierz was a place where two cultures cohabited with each other - the Jews and the Christians. Now Kazimierz is adorable because of delightful architecture and places created to spend time with friends :)
The last thing which I saw in Cracow is obviously the Old Town and the Dragon. But as you can see the most impressive for me it was Nowa Huta.
