Multitasking

Multitasking has become recently a very popular term and a really useful skill in all aspects of life. We have been enchanted by the opportunities which we have thanks to multitasking. Doing a few things in the same moment, as learning, listening to music or some podcast and staying tuned to all the news around the world – it seems to be a very good idea to increase our abilities and our knowledge.

But is it really good for us?
In the article written by Cynthia Kubu and Andre Machado for TIME, we can find some interesting information. First of all, they say that most of us are simply unable to multitask (only 2.5% of people can multitask effectively). For the rest it is just an illusion of doing things at the same time, when in reality we do individual actions in rapid succession.

To resume a little this article, I want to present you some points of negative impacts on us:

1) Attentiveness. Due to doing two hard tasks at the time, we become less attentive for two of them which result by inability to recreate the information that we just have learnt.

2) Learning. Attention is the most important quality during learning. Besides losing our ability to focus on learning, we don’t go deeper in process of learning, so we receive only superficial knowledge of whatever we have learnt.

That only a few examples of negatives influences of multitasking on our life. I encourage you to check more information about this topic.
